Scientific Advisory Board
The Science Behind Every RevelleCare Formula
Our Scientific Advisory Board brings world-class structural biology, drug discovery, and clinical research expertise to every product, protocol, and clinical study we put our name on.
Announcement
We are honoured to announce that Dr. M. Joanne Lemieux, Ph.D. — Vice-Dean Research (Biomedical) at the University of Alberta's Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry and Professor of Biochemistry — has joined RevelleCare as the inaugural Chair of our Scientific Advisory Board.
Dr. Lemieux is one of Canada's most respected structural biologists. Across more than 100 peer-reviewed publications and three decades at the frontier of membrane-protein research, drug discovery, and antiviral therapeutics, she has built a career on the same principle RevelleCare was founded on — that women deserve treatments grounded in real science, not marketing.
Her appointment marks a defining moment for the company. As Chair, Dr. Lemieux will guide the scientific rigour behind our compounded prescription formulations, oversee the recruitment of a multidisciplinary advisory board (dermatology, gynecology, and clinical research), and help shape the clinical-evidence program that will set RevelleCare apart in a category long underserved by women's healthcare.
Bringing Dr. Lemieux to RevelleCare is the proudest moment of this company so far. She is the kind of scientist who has a deep understanding of biomedical research at the molecular level — and she chose to advise us. Her leadership signals exactly what we want every woman who tries our products to feel: that the science behind her care was built by people who refuse to cut corners.”
— Michèle Lunney, Founder & CEO, RevelleCare Inc.
About Dr. M. Joanne Lemieux
Dr. Lemieux is a structural biologist and X-ray crystallographer whose laboratory at the University of Alberta has spent more than two decades decoding the proteins that drive human disease. She earned her B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Biochemistry from Dalhousie University and her Ph.D. from the New York University School of Medicine, where she solved one of the first crystal structures of a gradient-driven membrane transporter — a finding published in Science. She previously held a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair, was a CIHR New Investigator and AMFMR Scholar, received the Women in Science Excellence Award from the International Society for Antiviral Research (2023), and was honoured with the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry's Award for Excellence in Mentoring (2022). During the COVID-19 pandemic, her team's work on next-generation protease inhibitors helped move a promising antiviral toward clinical trials, and she now leads the $100M federally funded PRAIRIE Hub — Canada's western consortium for pandemic preparedness. She has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications and mentored over 70 trainees across undergraduate, MSc, PhD, and postdoctoral levels.
Dr. Lemieux's Role at RevelleCare
Beyond credentials, what matters is what an advisor actually does. Dr. Lemieux's contributions to RevelleCare are specific, ongoing, and central to how we build, test, and stand behind every product.
- Scientific governance
- Chairs RevelleCare's Scientific Advisory Board. Sets the scientific agenda and reviews all major formulation, protocol, and clinical-evidence decisions before they reach market.
- Formulation review
- Provides structural and biochemical review of RevelleCare's three foundational prescription formulations — Revelle Crème, Night Renewal Crème, and Radiance Crème — to ensure ingredient selection, dosing, and stability rest on defensible science.
- Clinical-evidence strategy
- Advises on the design of RevelleCare's planned 12-month clinical study — the longest of its kind in compounded prescription skincare for women — and helps select the academic partners and outcome measures that will give the data credibility with prescribers and regulators.
- SAB recruitment
- Personally recruits the broader Advisory Board: a dermatologist, a gynecologist, an academic women's-health researcher from the UAlberta WCHRI ecosystem, and a clinical researcher.
- Endorsement & public attribution
- Named on the RevelleCare website, in investor materials, and on regulatory and grant submissions. Available for up to one investor or partnership event per year and one endorsement letter per year.
- Term
- Two-year initial appointment, renewable by mutual agreement of the parties.

Looking ahead
We expect to announce additional members of the Scientific Advisory Board in the months ahead, as Dr. Lemieux helps us assemble a small, deliberate group of experts whose combined judgment will stand behind every formulation, protocol, and clinical study RevelleCare brings to women. We are deeply grateful to Joanne for taking on this role at such a pivotal moment in our company's journey.
